As promised...

Here is the template for my paper craft project. :D

Just taking up some time, yo...

So basically I'm just sitting here in the Sleeze doing a whole lotta nothing. Just thought I should update my blog. I feel kinda bad, seeing as how I don't use it that often.
Anywho, I finished my paper craft project. I wish I could put it on here now, but the file is saved on one of the computers in the CrackLab- uh I mean MacLab......

My original design was going to be myself, but I just couldn't make the damn thing resemble me at all.
I was searching desperately for ideas and suddenly came along one. My main browser on the server at school has a Clockwork Orange theme. So I figured what better to do than a character from one of my favorite movies?!

Anyways, I finally decided to make my paper craft a mock of Alex from Clockwork Orange. Complete with blood spattered overalls. :D

Morbid? Yes.
Necessary? You bet!

I will post a picture at a later date in time....
Actually, probably tomorrow.

hmmm...

Well, since I didn't do this before, I am writing a statement on my business card. I pretty much found a font that I really liked. Sort of a retro fridge font, right? Well I know this might have been wrong, but I really wanted to base my entire design off of that font. Since I am in design class, I have been taught to keep things extremely simple and not too crazy. I wanted a very sleek design that spoke for itself. Using the fridge font for my information, I decided to use a 50s-esque color scheme. I made a simple design with light blue on the back for my information. As an after thought I added stars to the blue. Although they are a completely different shape and color, I think the stars work well to lead your eye to my information. On the back side, I wanted to keep with the retro theme. What better way to do this than put an old fridge in there? I got a picture of an old fridge with the same background color that I had used for my information. I cropped the fridge so that one corner and the wall are visible. I wanted to keep the color in there since I had used it before. Then (once again because I am in design) I just used a simple design element consisting of dotted lines that end in a dot. Hopefully, people will like the dotted lines. I am thinking about changing a few colors and maybe changing the design on the back. It will still be simple, of course, but I am sure there are plenty of ways that I could improve on it without completely ruining it.

Ah, late night mac-labbing....

So here are my final pieces for class. Some of them could use more work, but eh.... what the hell. I'm really proud of my band poster though. :D I was listening to this band called "The Like" when I was sketching out ideas, so I just used them for the information on the poster. So, yes, it is a real band and yes, you should check them out.

Aaaaand I'm spent.

So here is the finished project.
It sucks, but at least I can't possibly get a zero.

ooooh computer graphics...

Still working on the advertising assignment. My next one is marketing haunted golf clubs to an independent rock band... REALLY independent...

I ended up find a picture of Lordi, a death metal band. I figured they would need golf clubs the most, you know? Death. destruction, black eyes, concussions... who wouldn't want to beat the ever living shit out of some one with a golf club? I know I do...

Anywho, the golf clubs aren't in the picture yet, but I figured I might as well post and original and keep working.

One of the wonders of the internet.

Some one showed me a video on YouTube one day, and I think it might just be my new favorite video. Basically, its 2 rabbits that are in a Russian prison. Crazy things happen and there are these creepy door men in it. Like, I'm not joking. Men. Who are doors. WHAT THE HELL?! Well, I guess this is all due to the creative and really weird minds of the Japanese! Anyways, there are like 5 or 6 episodes on this one video (don't flip out...they're only like a minute long) so if you want to see more of them, the cartoon is call Usavich.

I think I'm paranoid...

... mainly because we've been talking about break-ins for a significant portion of the class. Anywho, this week our assignment is product re-assignment. Basically, we take incredibly weird objects (thanks Shane) and create a marketing ploy for strange people (another thank you to Shane). So this project is making my brain want to explode. But, nevertheless, I will try to do my best.

So far, I have made about 2 of the 6 assignments.
My first product was a bowl of soup. I chose to market this product to Sasquatch, hence, "Villager Soup".

My second version is still a work in progress. The item was a mummified spider monkey. I chose to market this towards Batman. "Why?" you ask? BECAUSE HE NEEDS A NEW SIDE KICK!!!!

I am about to pull my hair out...

So I finished my final variation of this project. The only bad thing is, when I came to the computer and went to my files.... THEY WERE GONE!!!!!!!! So I am very stressed out right now. Then, I saw that all of my layers were combined into one, so I couldn't play with the color variation. I apologize on behalf of the extreme crap you're about to see.

Can I get a "HELL YES!"?

So this doesn't deal with Computer Graphics at all, but I thought it was blog-worthy.

It's the squealers you have to look out for...

I thought I would try and be witty and open my post with a quote from the good ole Joker. But I epically failed at it.

Anywho... This project was pretty rad. The assignment was to take a photo and recreate ourselves using car parts and various objects from automobiles. Well, seeing how I am a HUGE hippie, I decided to use 1969 VW parts.
It turned out better than I thought it would. Originally, I had gotten rid of the window on my cheek and kept it white. Other people told me I should keep it, so there it sits.

Of course, there is always a certain catch to these projects. Today, it was assigned to create yet another "car-icature". I was sitting around trying to rack my brain for an idea. Shitty as my brain may be, it came up with a brilliant idea.

Yes, ladies and germs, I am the Joker. Only out of car parts. And a female. OK OK! So there are a lot of flaws!!! But I just thought it was a fun idea and it gave me more time to mess around with all of the tools in Photoshop. I wanted to make light reflecting off of my eyes, but every time I tried, it looked REALLY fake. Like Carmen Electra's boobs fake. So I just left the eyes black pits.... of despair.

Third one coming soon.... maybe I'll come up with an even better idea! :D Positive thinking, people!

No black holes here!

I recently had a successful 20th birthday, although there was the threat for a moment that scientists might create a black hole from splitting particles. I mean, how much more tragedy could there be on my birthday?

Well... the universe is still in existence, so AWESOME!

So for our second project, we were required to Photoshop ourselves into another environment. Now, I'm still learning the ways of Photoshop, so bear with me. I took a picture of me dancing (photo by my good friend Dominic Van Horn) and simply placed myself into a... rave?
